Jail Ministry

Our Mission
Our mission is to bring the Gospel into correctional facilities and prepare incarcerated individuals for a transformed life in Christ by:
  • Leading people to salvation or spiritual renewal
  • Providing biblical discipleship while incarcerated
  • Building faith, accountability, and character
  • Preparing individuals for successful reentry
  • Supporting them spiritually and practically after release
We don’t just visit inmates.
We invest in lives.

Our Spiritual Foundation
Our Jail Ministry is rooted in the truth of God’s Word and the power of redemption.
We believe:
  • Jesus Christ saves, restores, and transforms
  • No one is defined by their worst mistake
  • Repentance leads to new life
  • Discipleship produces a lasting relationship with lasting change.
  • God specializes in second chances
Scripture reminds us:
“I was in prison and you came to Me.” (Matthew 25:36c)
We serve because Christ first served us.

Our Discipleship-Based Jail Ministry Approach
Our ministry begins while individuals are still incarcerated and continues long after their release.
We provide discipleship through:
  • In-person visitation
  • Telephone ministry
  • Written correspondence
  • Prayer and biblical teaching
  • Spiritual mentoring
The goal of every interaction is clear:
lead individuals into a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ and teach them how to walk faithfully with Him.
We focus on:
  • Salvation and repentance
  • Renewing the mind through Scripture
  • Breaking criminal and addictive patterns
  • Healing from past trauma
  • Establishing godly identity
  • Preparing for responsible living
While individuals are still in custody, we walk with them consistently and intentionally.

Personal Discipleship
Through visits, calls, and letters, we provide:
  • Biblical teaching
  • Prayer and encouragement
  • Accountability
  • Guidance in spiritual growth
Gospel-Centered Teaching
 We help inmates understand:
  • Who Jesus is
  • What salvation means
  • How to repent and live differently
Spiritual Preparation for Reentry
Before release, we begin preparing individuals for life outside by helping them develop:
  • Spiritual discipline
  • Healthy thinking patterns
  • Responsibility
  • Commitment to Christ
  • Connection to a Christian Family

Our Post-Release Support Services
When individuals are released, our ministry continues. We provide practical and spiritual support to help them succeed.

Housing
We house reentering men in sober living homes, providing a stable and safe foundation from which to begin their new life.

Clothing
We provide clothing so men can step forward with confidence, dignity, and self-respect.

Food
“No person will ever go hungry.”
We make sure our participants are consistently fed and nourished.

Transportation
We provide transportation so individuals can attend:
  • Court appointments
  • Probation meetings
  • Church services
  • Job interviews
  • Ministry programs
Phone
We assist with obtaining a cell phone so participants can stay connected to support, employment, and accountability.

Community
We provide belonging through the In His Steps family.
Participants are welcomed into healthy Christian fellowship and are taken to church where they are embraced and encouraged.
No one walks alone.
